Weekend and us.
Feb. 15th, 2005 03:27 pmWeekend, well, Paul came back at 11.30am on Sat after his stint at the stag do in York. He smelled like a chimney!! And stale beer! Shooed him to take a shower and then had a brunch of some fried wantans and Malaysian prawn fritters with chilli dipping sauce which I made whilst he was away with my new deep fat fryer. :) Then we went to do our usual food shopping at Morrisons, came back and was gonna go out to town but the weather was freezing and it was so windy and rainy that we stayed in. Mind you, we were both tired. I was invited to a pizza dinner at a friend's of mine on Friday which was really nice and it was a blast too. :) We both fell asleep at around 4pm, well cuddled till about 6pm. Then made a quick dinner, watched some tv, got phoned by my sis in law and then beddy byes.
Sunday: Woke up at around 8 ish and then after a lounge in bed, showered, breakfasted and then off to the cinema. Watched Ocean's 12 and Meet The Fockers. O12 was ok, but Catherine Z Jones is just far too smug for my liking. Meet The Fockers, well it is the usual slapstick but was laughable and cringeable. Came home and ordered food from Taste of Kashmir which took ages to deliver. FOod was not bad, and they came in those microwavable containers. Good portions and huge garlic naans. Stuffed silly, we were.
Monday: The V Day. Absolutely over commercialised and very in your face day. Went to see doc's but they lost my test results and blah blah. Total waste of time. Returned some books to the library and then tried to get a card for Paul at Clinton's which was impossible - they were like a frenzy horde in there. Went home and started to prepare dinner- I invited 2 friends for dinner. Yes yes, me and him should be cuddling and stuff, but we decided to have a social evening instead. We had spare ribs with pots and carrot soup, spicy Malay chicken curry which I made from scratch- ground all the spices - wet and dry, myself, steamed coley fillet on a bed of spinach with black bean sauce, steamed chinese sausages with arrowhead slices, stir fried veg with oyster sauce and garlic and white rice. Dessert was coconut sorbet (bought) and some fresh orange segments. Very enjoyable dinner and company.
Paul surprised me with a big beautiful Disney eeyore mug with a small eeyore soft toy in it when he came home yesterday! So sweet! :) Totally unexpected as I said I didn't want anything this year due to financial strain this month. He is such a lovely baby!
