Stuffed from last nite.
Feb. 11th, 2005 01:31 pmLast minute decision to have dinner with a Malaysian friend of mine to celebrate CNY. We went to Zing Vaa. Ordered Steamed scallops with slices of tofu, brocolli and roast duck with a thick sauce over it (arranged nicely too), Stir fried green pak choy with straw mushrooms and lovely slices of prawn cakes, steamed chicken with garlic, ginger and a delicate yummy sauce and spicy beef curry in a claypot. Had live enetertainment singer who wasn't bad at all and of course the lion dance. Didn't ex[ect the lion dance at all but being the 2nd day of new year and you need to "open the new year" I guess for a business it is pretty imperative to ensure good luck and good fortune. Was pretty ok and enjoyable. Hate the male waiters there but the senior lady waitress there known to us as "Foong che" or sister Fong (a term used for older female person as a mark of respect when talking) who is really nice and gave us 10% off too for being regulars (esp my M'sian friend). :) We were stuffed. The bill came to £36 but with the 10% off it was abt £33 for the 3 of us. Quite good really.
