Happy b-day to me yesterday!
Jul. 10th, 2005 09:26 amI didn't have time yesterday to update my journal, but it was my 29th b-day as mentioned earlier. This is how the fab day went!!
Morning- Woke up and clapped hands in joy when I realised it was my b-day! Paul blearied eyed said, "want your pressies?", Me - " BOY do I ever!!".
Pressies- I got a Chantal Thomass perfume set which I wanted, some nice tops, books and a Thornton's choc cake from my beloved. :) *grins Happily*
Afternoon- went to town for a browse and an ice cream! Yum yum! Went home at 4 pm as we were going out for a b-day dinner with a group of friends for 7pm.
7pm- Zing Vaa's for dinner. I am so pleased everyone made the effort to come for the b-day dinner! We had 11 of us in total-me, Paul, Edy, Adam, Ken, Ebru, Hugh, Yumin, See Xien, Sarah Kelly and Sarah Yee. Food was fab! We had proper chinese dishes which are not on the normal menu. 8 large dishes of the following- deep fried spiced squids- very tender and so tasty, pow wong kai- steamed chicken with their special sauce, spiced beef in bird nest, deep fried cod with tofu and crispy pork braised in a claypot, pork in peking sauce, stir fried pak choy with prawn slices (har paeng), pei par tofu in chinese egg white sauce and the house special- slices of roast duck, shitake, tofu and scallops with yummy delicate sauce over it. Accompanied by steamed rice and egg fried rice. Excellent and bountiful meal! The surprise was at the end of meal, the head waitress presented me with a cake from Zing Vaa to wish me happy b-day! With a candle right in the middle. :) It was sooooo cool! I got a happy b-day song too! This is gonna be something I would remember for a looooooong time. Thank you so much for b-day pressies and cards and wishes!
Came home and had some company wine drinking with Ken, Ebru, HUgh and Sarah Kelly. Was an ace nite! Thanks, Hugh for sharing that wonderful white port from Portugal you brought!! *HUGS*
And today, well, we have to see if his parents will be dropping by from 10am onwards and I think the rest of the day will devote to being happy and contented. :)
