New restaurant + food news
Feb. 15th, 2006 11:22 amNew restaurant, Wong Ting's, the former Golden Dragon is pretty good. Their dim sum is yummy!
Ambience- very nice and modern, waiting staff is excellent and prices are very reasonable.
Sunday's lunch with Mr and Mrs Wong was good and they took us there to try and they also know one of the partners of the restaurant. The restaurant is run by 5 chinese men from Doncaster who has a restaurant there and they have hired chefs from Hong Kong to run the kitchen. Zing Vaa is still good but it is nice to find new places with new menus.
Recommended dishes- House special fried noodles ( scallops, prawns, squid, chicken and some great roast meat), 3 roast rice (roast duck, char siu and crispy roast pork with choy sum on white rice), whelks in satay sauce, congee. There were alot of dim sum to order but imany dishes were sold out on sunday, Very busy and majority of customers were chinese so this is a very good sign. Lard Club- interested? :)
On other news, East Ocean Cafe's lunch menu is back. Very good value at around £6.60. My favourite is the Japanese set menu at £6.60 with lots of food on a tray. Also the Thai set menu is good. Have to go for lunch there again soon. :)
