Sunday, sweet Sunday

Went to Evie's 1sy b-day where I met lots and lots of nice ppl. Hello to anyone I didn't get to say hello to on the day, and no, I wasn't ignoring you, just got sidetracked! ;)

Then got kidnapped to do some elderberry picking with Megan and edy_ for wine making and also picked some rosehips for rosehip jelly. Not had rosehip jelly before or rosehip (apart as an ingredient in fruit teas). Was an excellent day foraging amongst the hedgerow despite rain. Not really like smell of wet elderberries whilst de-stalking the berries from stalks.

I have 6 lbs of plums, 2 1/2 lbs of elderberries and 400g of rosehips. Some plums for winemaking, some for plum jam, some for tart  and some for preserving in liquor. Not sure if I have enough space to do brew more fruit wine, so might do the lethal plum vodka instead. Oh, maybe make some chinese preserved plums too. Elderberries- I think definitely  for wine making. Anyone want to come blackberry picking soon? Am thinking of doing bramble jelly for Christmas. Lots of jamming and preserving to do this autumn. Also, anywhere I can pick apples?? >:)

Saw Jo today, her friend Sarah was up so we had lunch at Hercules and then a trip to Meadowhall retail park.
