Pancakes and Lent
Mar. 1st, 2006 12:19 pmWell, so from today some of you may be fasting or started on giving up certain items for Lent..... me on the other hand, haven't managed to decide what I want to give up...... I would say chocolates but I don't eat them lots or have a dependency on them so that isn't a hardship, then I thought maybe snacks, but again, that is a not too much of a vice with me either. Maybeeeeee I should stop coming up with yummy food to stop tempting ppl to eat..... Hmmm! :)
I would go vegetarian as per normal practice but don't think Paul will want meatless food for the next 40/47 days? Maybe I will give up chillies for the passing of Lent.. *cries* which I absolutely adore in my food! Or maybe pies... hoorah, I may have found a couple of things to give up!
Anyway, do you fast or give up something for Lent? Tell me abt it coz I am curious! :)
P/S: Oh yes, pancake day yesterday was marvellous! Had M'sian lacy pancakes with beef rendang and banofee pancakes which were ever so good and sinful! :) Not something I will suggest for frequent comsumption!
P/S 2: I have a Malaysian batter downstairs which is bubbling with the addition of yeast to make Apong Pisang, a Malay banana pancakes. Yes, we have lots of bananas not eaten coz we went away last weekend. Anyhow, there should be a chocolate banana cake too sometime today.
